Inside Cristiano’s Mind (by beIN SPORT)
Cristiano Ronaldo shares his thoughts on the Ballon d’Or, Portugal’s qualification to Brazil and on playing against Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Cristiano found heart-felt words for Nelson Mandela:
"I saw the papers this morning. The messages around the world for him, I think it’s deserved. He’s one of the most important persons in the world. I had the opportunity to meet him in South Africa. And for me it was kind of a dream because of what he’s done for his country. What he’s done in his life, I think it’s amazing. He passed away; it’s a sad day for me and all over the world. I think everyone is sad because a fantastic person died, a person who helped the world to be better. I wish the best for his family.
He’s gone to the sky, and for sure the angels are going to be around him and protect him all the time.
For me it was a pleasure to meet him. Rest in peace.”
Cristiano and Marcelo having a hysterical laughing-fit during today’s “World Cup press-conference”. Cristiano starts laughing, Marcelo joins in and the two can literally not control themselves for several seconds. Hahaha! xD
I love them so much, they’re like two little boys who can’t behave in public. Gotta love Criselo ♥
... I really admire Luka for continuing all serious with his part. I would have laughed myself with Marcelo and Cristiano cracking up by my side. I still don’t get what was so funny. But these two need no reason to laugh ♥
beIN SPORT Exclusive: Cristiano Ronaldo on the Ballon d’Or
(by beIN SPORT)
Cristiano Ronaldo dishes on the importance of the Ballon d’Or trophy amid rumors that he might not even attend the FIFA ceremony next month in Zurich.
"I think it’s not the most important thing in a career… It’s important for many players; I understand that, but it’s just an individual trophy.
I think there are more important things than that — to [have] a fantastic career, to win things for the club… It’s just one more trophy.
It’s good, but it’s not the end of the world if a player doesn’t win because I consider many, many good players that deserve to win the Golden Ball, and they never win. It’s just a trophy.”
"I will try to give my best possible, first for my club and soon for my national team at the World Cup. For me it’s the same because I face all matches always the same way, but it is true that the World Cup is a tournament with a different flavour. My objective is to at my best, to shine and help my country and individually showcase the best that I have to offer and score goal. I am prudential and try to do my best for my national team.”
"I didn’t see the World Cup draw live because I was sleeping. I think it’s a tough group, with Germay which is always a candidate for the title and the USA and Ghana, that are very good."
"The expectations are always the same, to get as far as possible. At the moment to pass the group stage is the priority and then we’ll see what happens, we will go step by step."
"We will have a difficult group stage where we’ll have to play well. The match vs. Germany will be very difficult. It’s a group that we can win with a sense of reality and considering the difficulties that we will have. We can pass the group stage, depending on the team’s confidence and the level of oncentration, which in such short tournaments (group stage) is very important."
"I lifted the Champions League trophy and the World Cup will be even bigger. It’s something unforgettable, but we have to keep our feet on the ground and think step by step because all teams want to win the competition but only the best can do it. I hope that Portugal can conquer it."
"There is still a lot of time until the World Cup, I am focused on my club to win the League and all the trophies we’re playing."
"You have to enjoy the present, which is good at Real Madrid. We are doing well in all three competitions and I am confident that we can win something important this year. For the national team there are still many months until the World Cup and a lot can happen. My objective now is to give my best for my club."

Isn’t it cute that Cristiano didn’t abandon his afternoon nap routine to watch the World Cup draw live ♥
