Miserable People Hate
David Beckham’s announcement was the cherry on top of the transfer window cupcake. But I heard a TalkSport commentator criticizing David for giving his salary to charity. First he complained that it must be a gimmick, then he said that he was opposed to David’s donation (which will amount to about 150 kEuro a week to a children’s hospital in Paris) because it didn’t go to a charity in England. I thought, the man is complaining about David’s choice in a charity. Why? Why is nothing ever good enough from him?
So, I am searching for news about Cristiano after last night’s game. Where is he? Is he in Portugal? Has he talked to the press? There have been a few posts about his charity work today in light of the article in The Sun. Along with a lot of posts attacking him for the own goal, and for the typical “being arrogant and selfish for taking a defensive position”. It’s just so ridiculous. I’m thinking, the man makes one mistake in 600+ games, the man has rescued his teams from defeats countless times, he has been playing injured and kept quiet about it. An article about his charity work and people attack him? Really? It is so wrong that people are taking happiness from what must be a very frustrating moment for him. Why? Why does so much hate get directed at him?
It doesn’t matter what they do. If it’s good, it gets twisted and if it’s bad, they get attacked. It’s unfair. They get my support because they are phenomenal athletes and for their charity work. I just hate to see miserable people spewing hate at them for what seems like jealousy and band-wagon jumping.
Rant over.
Where can I sign? 100% agree.

He’s fast, tall, good in the air, has a good technique, takes penalties, is good at free-kicks, is a leader.
There is only one negative thing about Cristiano: He is very beautiful. With him the same thing happens as with Beckham, people criticise them because they’re jealous of them being very handsome.”
